This is a vital issue for Sheep Creek Water Company shareholders, since a large part of the water we use comes from old water rights in the canyon below Wrightwood. Definitely something to be aware of&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/environment\/story\/2023-09-09\/water-rights-legislation<\/p>\n<h1 class=\"headline\">Lawmakers approve plan to strengthen oversight of California water rights<\/h1>\n<blockquote><p>The legislation expressly authorizes the State Water Resources Control Board to investigate all water rights claims \u2014 including riparian rights and pre-1914 rights \u2014 and to determine whether the rights are valid.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s about giving the water board the tools that it needs to do its work,\u201d said Sen.
